Tagging Instructions

TO SAVE YOU TIME & FRUSTRATION AT DROP OFF, BE SURE TO READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO TAGGING!

Vogue Consign reserves the right to reject items and to pull off the floor any items we find unsuitable. We also reserve the right to not accept items that we consider to be excessively overpriced. As stated in the consignor agreement that you sign during the registration process, Vogue Consign is not responsible for lost goods, for damaged goods, for stolen goods or any acts of God (ex: tornado, damaging winds etc.). that may affect the items that you have consigned.

We do implement security measures to mitigate loss.

Returning Consignors, has your email address changed?  Please update on your account login profile.

Supplies You Will Need

  1. White card stock(NOT PAPER), approx. 65# weight (no colors, no glitter, no pearlized) WHITE ONLY!  ***This can be found at Walmart/Office Depot***  Regular paper tags rip off too easily.
  2. Hangers – metal or strong plastic ones – the weak plastic ones break and land on the floor.
  3. Medium and Large size safety pins (no tiny ones)

HOW TO USE A MOBILE PHONE AND ENTER INVENTORY BY VOICE (INSTEAD OF TYPING)

The fastest way to use voice entry efficiently is to organize and lay all your items in front of you, by category and size.

1.SIGN INTO WEBSITE “CONSIGNMENT LOGIN”  VOGUECONSIGN.COM TOP RIGHT OF PAGE

2.Enter you consignor number and password

  1. Click on Activities Menu
  2. Choose “Work w/consigned inventory”
  3. Choose Active Inventory
  4. Choose “mobile version voice entry (beta)
  5. Click and Choose Category (example: Shoes)
  6. Click and Choose Item Size (example: 9)

The program will remember the category and size from the last item until you choose to change them.

9a. Think about what you are going to say before- hand -example: “black boots with laces”.

9b. HERE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT KEY TO SUCCESSFUL ENTRY:

  • The program will only enter the correct information in this order: Description, price, discount, donate.
  • To enter the selling price, you must say: “Price 5 dollars”. Otherwise, you will get an error
  • (Before learning this, we all thought the program didn’t understand “southern accents!”)

9c. You must say “discount” – You must say “donate”. Otherwise it defaults to no discount-no donate.

  1. Place your cursor inside the box that says “Dictate your item here”
  2. Your keyboard will pop up.
  3. Hit the microphone icon and start speaking:

  1. When done dictating, hit the microphone icon again.
  2. Hit submit item.
  • Note: If you need an edit, hit the button/or delete button to start over!
  1. When you are finished with all your items, following instructions for printing tags.

PLEASE DO NOT USE A TAGGING GUN. IT SLOWS THE CHECKOUT LINES ON BUSY DAYS. IT PUTS HOLES IN CLOTHES. ALL BAR CODE TAGS MUST BE PINNED OVER THE HEART (WHEN YOU ARE WEARING THE ITEM)

TIPS FOR TAGGING:

  • Do NOT Procrastinate!  The tagging system automatically closes 5 days prior to the sale.
  • Do not alter the size of the printed tag. Bar Code scanning system is connected to this tag.  We will not  sell your item if you alter the size of the tag.  The barcode scanner will not operate on altered tags.
  • Do not have any handwritten information on the tag. 
  • What is a resort #?  It helps us return your items at end of sale.  Each sale you may receive a different resort number.  So reprint your tags so your items will be returned to you!
  • You must make a choice to discount/donate when you make the tag. We cannot change your tags.  No handwriting the word discount on the tag. The computer must read it from the bar code.
  • If you are going to donate, it makes sense to also choose discount.

Go to:  vogueconsign.com

Click on Consignor Log-in (top of the page in pink)

Log-in with your consignor number and password

Click on Activities Menu

Click on Work with Consigned Inventory

Click on Print Tags

Click on Print all Tags HTML

Make sure you have chose P.C.- NOT MOBILE

Right click and save to your desktop

Make sure layout is in portrait (not landscape)

BE SURE TO USE 65# WHITE CARDSTOCK. (No glitter-no pearlized-no colors)

If you don’t have a printer, copy this file from your desktop to USB drive /thumb drive/flash drive and bring to a friend’s printer or Office Depot.

Once the page with tags comes up, click on the square with the up arrow in it at the bottom of the page

Click on create pdf (look to the right)

Click on the square with the up arrow in it

Click on Mail

The pdf file should be in an email for you to send to a store or friend

 

What You May Sell

  • Remember:A consignment sale is not a garage sale. Getting rid of every single t-shirt is probably not something you want to try to do. Our shoppers will be looking for current, quality, seasonal items. Items need to be in pristine condition. NO RIPS OR TEARS, MISSING OR LOOSE BUTTONS, BROKEN ZIPPERS, STAINS, EXCESSIVE WEAR, SHRINKAGE OR FADING. 
  • If everyone is as picky with the clothes they sell as the clothes they buy-we ALL have a better shopping and selling experience in the end.
  • PROHIBITED: BULK NEW “CLOSE OUT” MERCHANDISE– LIMIT 3 OF THE “SAME” ITEM FOR NEW MERCHANDISE.
  • PROHIBITED: COUNTERFEIT HIGH-END PURSES, WALLETS AND BAGS -NO KNOCKOFFS
  • PROHIBITED: COSMETICS OF ANY KIND
  • PROHIBITED: NO SWIM SUITS-HEALTH ISSUE exception: tags are still on suit
  • PROHIBITED: NO PRE-LOVED UNDERGARMENTS/SOCKS-HEALTH ISSUE exception: tags are still on or in original sealed package

CLOTHING –

  • Place garment on hanger with the hanger hook pointing to the left and the garment facing you.  Place the tag on the right-as if it were over your heart when wearing the item.

  • WE USE NUMBER SIZES FOR ALL CLOTHING– Size 0 to 28  
    • The size chart, seen during inventory entry, will help you place garments with just a “large” on the tag, into an appropriate number size
    • You will hang your own clothing by category.

           Example: All pant sizes from 0 to 28 will be separated on one clothing rack.

  •                      All tops sizes 0 to 28 will be separated on another clothing rack.

    OTHER-

    • SPRING SALE: Don’t bring in wool or fleece or corduroy. Long pants and long sleeves ARE allowed. No turtleneck shirts. No heavy winter coats. No furry hats. No heavy fleece sleepwear.  No Christmas Designs.
    • FALL SALE: In Alabama, fall could be warm. So just about everything will be allowed except swimsuits. Sandals ARE allowed. Think Halloween costumes! Think Hunting clothes!
    • We highly recommend ironing any items that need it. They will sell better.
    • Take the time to wash clothing prior to dropping off to us.
    • We will reject items with smoke or pet odors, a musty smell, stains, holes, faded or stretched, or with missing buttons or other missing parts.
    • Place garment on hanger with the hanger hook pointing to the left and the garment facing you.  It should form a question mark.  Place the tag on the right-as if it were over your heart when wearing the item. Use a safety pin to pin on the tag.
    • Pants may be hung on shirt hangers by safety pinning them to the top wire of the hanger. If you pin them on the bottom wire, they wad up and do not look attractive to sell!
    • Do not use plastic clip style skirt/pants hangers-they break too easily resulting in your items laying on the floor and will not sell.  Metal clip style skirt/pants hangers work well.
    • Tops with big V necks will slide off a hanger. Pin them at the top wire of the hanger so they don’t land on the floor and will not sell.
    • We will reject 3 letter monogrammed clothing.

    SHOES-

    CHECK THE TOES OF THE SHOES FOR ANY SIGN OF WEAR- WE WANT EXCELLENT USED CONDITION.

      • We will be very selective about the condition, both inside and out of the shoe.  Please only bring shoes that are in excellent condition.
      • Secure each pair of shoes together with a string, ribbon, or zip ties. Zip ties work best.
      • Use a safety pin to secure your tag to the string, ribbon, shoelace or zip tie.
      • Next, put a piece of masking tape on the bottom of each shoe with your consignor number on it. Many, many shoes are separated during the sale, and we cannot sell them.
      • Do not put shoes in Ziploc bags.
      • Do not bring shoes in boxes.

      TIP…  For a pair of high heels with no where to attach to each other, place a large safety pin straight through the leather to the inside of the shoe – maybe in the heel area.  Do this on each shoe.  Then use a third large safety pin to attach the above two pins. 

    ACCESSORIES-

    Hats, scarves, bows, belts and purses/satchels.  No socks unless in a sealed plastic bag from manufacturer.

      • Items need to be clean.
      • Only NEW underwear/panties in unopened packages or with tags still on
      • We will reject items with smoke or pet odors or pet hairs, a musty smell, stains, holes, missing buttons or other missing parts.
      • We do not accept jewelry.
